Putting the Bible in Everyone's Hands

Centuries ago, everyday believers weren’t allowed to own or read the Bible in their own language. Early reformers risked their lives translating Scripture into common languages so families could read it for themselves, planting a seed that later movements, including Adventists, built on.

Frequently asked questions

Why was this such a big deal?+

Because without access to Scripture in a language people understood, ordinary believers had no way to check what they were being taught against what God actually said.
